Before it was Valley View Barn
All good stories begin with 'once upon a time', don't they? Well, that's how we'll begin ours as it is indeed a good story.
Once upon a time, we made the move from the city of Warner Robins, GA to a 'farm' in Fort Valley. We say 'farm' because mostly what we have 'farmed' is kudzu and an absurd amount of pets over the years. However, this 'farm' turned into more than we could have ever dreamed. It turned into a home. A home where we raised our three children, built a house, a barn, and many different out buildings over the years.
The Vision for Valley View Barn Takes Shape
We never really planned to turn our barn into a wedding venue, but that all started to change when one of our daughters decided to get married at our home. She had the vision for an outdoor spring wedding in our front yard, with a reception held in the back yard. She was always the child that wasn't all for living on a 'farm'. Needless to say, she came around! Renovations began, landscaping was updated, fencing put in place, and our home became wedding ready. It truly was a beautiful wedding.
Valley View Barn
Fast forward a year and a half (yes, a year and a half) to our next daughter's wedding. Keep in mind, that our son also got married within that year and a half to his now wife in Athens, GA. Apparently our kids like to do things together because they all ended up having kids within a year of each other as well! Anyway, back to the story. Our oldest daughter wanted to have a December wedding in a barn, so in standard fashion, I (Bill) decided to do a quick renovation on our existing barn. That 'quick' renovation turned into what is now Valley View Barn. The renovation might have been more than we anticipated, but it turned into something even more beautiful than we could have ever imagined.
